Something Different for Father’s Day

Something Different for Father’s DayAre you getting something different for dad this year for Father’s Day? If not, you should be. Sure, shopping for a gift is easy, but we’re willing to bet he’s probably already got everything a guy could want and then some. Why not treat him to something different this year like a big break! Here are a few creative Father’s Day ideas to get you started.

·    Mow the Yard – Why not give dad a break from his usual duty of yard work. Get out there with that lawn mower and make that yard look great! While you’re at it, get out the weed eater and trim the edges. If you really want dad to be impressed, trim the hedges while you’re at it.

·    Make Dad’s Favorite Breakfast – Give dad the simple pleasure’s of his favorite breakfast no matter how much of a no-no it may be. If it’s a strictly forbidden item, make it in a smaller portion or substitute it with a healthier version. There are now several great alternatives to a healthier version of an original favorite like veggie bacon. If he’s not keen on veggie alternatives however, and you know it’s really not going to hurt him in a very small portion, you may be very well better off letting him savor his original favorite for one day.

·    Take Dad to Dinner for Father’s Day – Does he have a favorite place he loves to dine at? Even if it’s his favorite fast food restaurant, take him there for dinner. Maybe he has a favorite food like ribs? If so, check around for a place that specializes in his favorite food and take him there.

·    Tune–Up the Car – If dad relies on a mechanic to tune his car up, why not offer to pay for it? While you’re at it, ask dad if he’s like a new set of tires or if he’d like some new rims or maybe seat covers and get them for him. If he enjoys working on his own vehicle, offer to help him work on it. If you have no idea how, take a few classes or ask dad.

·    Get Out With Dad – Is dad an outdoorsman who loves fishing or hunting? Why not take him on a weekend Father’s Day fishing or hunting trip. If anything needs to be purchased such as bait, pay for it. If he’s not an outdoorsman, but loves sports, take him to his favorite game.

·    Go Shopping – Instead of buying dad a gift he might not really want or need this Father’s Day, why not take dad to his favorite store and let him pick out his gift.

·    Just Do It – Has dad been asking you to do something like go to church with him on Father’s Day and you keep telling him you’ll get around to it? Make today that day and surprise him with whatever he’s been asking you to do.

Now all that’s left to do is enjoy time with dad! Happy Father’s Day!
