1. Give your Feet Some Fresh Air Your feet are just like any other part of your body, and the skin on your feet is comprised of pores. The pores on your feet need to breathe so that they do not get clogged with odorous toxins from sweating inside of restricting shoes and socks all day. Take your shoes and socks off at the end of your day and let your feet breathe to help keep feet fresh.
2. Use Foot Powder or Talc on your Feet and in your Shoes Powder and talc products pull moisture away from your feet and trap it inside of the sweet smelling product. You can purchase commercial foot powders and talc at the drugstore, and you can use baby powder or body talc instead of powders made specifically for feet if you choose. Use a powder or talc with natural ingredients and the least amount of chemical fragrance additives so they dont irritate your feet.
3. Try Nightly Foot Soaks A foot soak made of plain water and Epsom salts is a relaxing foot treatment that also helps deal with unwanted foot aroma. Try a white willow bark treatment by soaking the bark in water for several hours and then adding the water to a foot bath. The antiseptic and astringent properties of white willow bark make it a good choice for healthy feet.
4. Let the Spruce Tree Help your Feet For a natural solution for foot stench, try using the powdered bark of the Hemlock Spruce. Add the powdered bark directly to your shoes to help decrease sweat and odors.
5. Trim your Toenails Regularly Unkempt toenails are a trap for all of the sweat and smells held inside of your shoes and all of the dirt and grime your feet get into. Clip your toenails once a week to make sure foot odor is not coming from dirty toenails.
6. Give your Feet a
Walnut leaves are astringent and are useful in decreasing foot sweat when used regularly in a foot bath. English walnut leaves and white walnut or butternut leaves are both boiled in water to make a foot bath solution. Use one pound of dried herb to 6 cups of water, and boil for 45 minutes. Add this solution to water in a foot bath, and allow your feet time to soak.
7. Get a Pumice Stone for your Feet Feet tend to accumulate a lot of dry, dead skin that can flake and smell in the bottom of shoes and on the foot itself. Use a pumice stone regularly in the bath or shower on your feet to remove the skin and make sure your feet are clean. Clean, dry feet are generally odor free feet.
8. Soak your Feet in Chamomile Tea
Chamomile is soothing and refreshing for feet, but also helps deodorize. Add some dried chamomile flowers directly to your foot bath, or steep a tea beforehand and add the tea to bath water.
