The Beard

The Beard

Have you ever considered growing a beard? This added facial fuzz will change a man’s appearance more than anything, such as hairstyles and/or clothing. While some may deem the act unprofessional in today’s civilized world, growing a beard could relieve you of that daily shaving regime. In fact, a nicely trimmed beard could benefit your appearance altogether.

To begin your beard-growing venture, you’ll want to refrain from the razor for a good one to two months. This will allow your scruff to fill out into a nice full beard. Then it’s time to trim and shape your way to the preferred facial dew. If you’re feeling uneasy about the first time, you may want to find a skilled barber to do the trick.

Before letting your facial hair go wild, you might want to consider the various options at hand. The truth is a clean shave is not the only way to look professional these days. A number of men have resorted to the van dyke, which is essentially a moustache and goatee. This is probably one of the most popular beards of the new millennium. While it certainly adds a masculine characteristic to the male mug, it still leaves most of the face uncovered. This is an ideal beard choice for those who tend to grow a little patchy on the cheeks.

Depending on your preferred beard, you will need some tools of the trade. A quality beard clippers or trimmer is a must for keeping those whiskers tame and even. Some men prefer a beard scissors and comb for shaping their moustache and chin. Regardless if you’re going for a simple van dyke or full on beard, you’ll want to groom at least once a week to keep a handle on things.

The jazz dot is another popular beard trend these days. Yes, that simple, subtle dot under the lower lip has become quite the craze. This is the perfect facial scruff for men who want a little whisker action, but not a full beard. It’s important to understand that whiskers are different from the hair on your head. The beard is much curlier and courser to the touch. These days, specialty shampoos and conditioners are offered to those who wear a well-groomed beard. The old times of untamed, scraggly chins are over. It’s prudent to keep that facial hair clean and moisturized for a fresh, healthy look. The beard is simply not as oily as the hair on your scalp, therefore needs some assistance. This will also maintain your skin underneath, and prevent problems.

If you’re ready to test out the perks of beard growing, it’s beneficial to begin your beard on a vacation or long weekend when you’re just relaxing. Remember to let it grow awhile before trimming. You don’t want to botch it up before it’s even able to surface.
