The Man’s Guide to Deodorant

The Man’s Guide to DeodorantMen and sweat seem to go hand in hand. However, this does not mean that you have to stink to high Heaven during your workout, while playing your favorite sport or simply going about your day. Deodorant for men comes in many forms and if you are not sure which type of formula is best for you, you’ll want to take some time to do research and see what the various brands have to offer. You will quickly find that certain types of deodorant are designed to accommodate the needs of certain types of guys.

Because no two men are the same, it is important to choose the products that reflect your lifestyle and needs. Deodorant is one product that may not seem significant but in addition to smelling fresh, you’ll want a deodorant that is formulated to cater to your special needs. For example, if you are the kind of man that is constantly spending his free time tackling his buddies in a fun game of football, running or biking for miles on end, shooting hoops for hours or hitting homeruns for your company’s softball team, chances are you sweat more than most men. This means you’ll need a deodorant that is targeted for the athletic side of you. Look for a formula that has “pro,” “extra strength,” “sport” or similar words on the label. These formulas are best used not only before and after your activity but at night before bed as well. The deodorant will actually seep into your sweat glands, which plug up them up and keep you from having to apply an extra amount the next day.

If you’re a laid back kind of guy who doesn’t do a lot of physical activities, then you’ll want to look into a body spray deodorant. It goes on easily and won’t rub off onto your clothes. It’s a time saver and will leave you smelling fresh from the time you step out of the house in the morning until you come home in the evening. Do you sweat excessively even when you’re not doing something physically demanding? Many men suffer from excessive sweating and may find that regular deodorant is ineffective at keeping their underarms dry. Shop for a deodorant that has the word “clinical” somewhere on the label, which means that it is prescription strength and strong enough to tackle your problem. Most clinical deodorants are not heavily scented but still leave you smelling fresh and clean.

Power types that spend their days at the office should choose a gel deodorant that is fast-drying and offers all day protection. The ingredients used will make this type of deodorant safe for use on your dress shirts and blazers. That way you won’t have to worry about embarrassing pit stains when you take your jacket off. There is even deodorant for the Earth-conscious guy. Look for formulas that offer all natural ingredients that are effective at controlling sweat and odor. Not only do these types of products offer natural ingredients, the packaging itself is usually made of 100% recyclable materials.
