Do You Drink Enough Water?

WaterEveryone knows that water is essential to life, but what many people fail to realize is that many common beauty problems can be remedied by making sure you get enough of the right kind of water each and every day. The human body is 2/3 water, and it is involved in every function of the body. Water makes sure your body is transporting nutrients and waste products in and out of the cells, as well as absorbing and circulating water soluble vitamins and minerals. Hydration is critical in maintaining proper body temperature. Eight 8 ounce glasses of fresh water should be consumed every day to maintain maximum health.

How do you know if you do not get enough water? In most cases, your body will tell you. One of the first places your body will let you know there is a problem with a lack of water is your skin. Proper body hydration is key to maintaining not only skin moisture and elasticity, but is also needed to move the vitamins and nutrients your skin needs that it is processing through foods, beauty treatments, and supplements throughout the skin. If you develop itchy, dry, scaly skin with or without small hard bumps and the symptoms do not seem to correlate with a possible allergy or illness, there is a good chance the only thing you need to do to restore your healthy skin is up your water intake. Remember, every time you sweat or urinate you are losing water that your body must replenish. Even if you are hydrating your skin on the outside, proper internal hydration is critical to maintaining total health and function of your precious epidermis. Similarly, your hair and nails will show signs of wear if your body is not getting the proper amount of water. If your nails are dry, brittle, and cracked, and you do not do anything strenuous with your hands to cause a problem with nail health, increasing your water intake could help repair your nails. Hair will be dry and damaged if the follicles are not saturated with enough moisture. The moisture is directly linked to water intake.

Try to keep water intake in mind throughout your day, and make sure drinkable water is present for your daily beauty routine. A great way to start the day for your body and for your skin is to drink a tall 16 ounce glass of water before you apply your make-up and moisturizers. This makes sure to get your body going, and provides you with 2 of your 8 servings of water for the day. If you make sure to drink 16 ounces before you go to sleep at night, you are taking care of another 2 servings of water for your day. Be sure to sip on your way to and from work, and drink a tall glass with each meal to ensure proper digestion and health and beauty for your whole body.
