Healthy Snacks Men Will Love

Healthy Snacks Men Will LoveSnacks are great for curbing hunger pangs and ideal when it comes to tying us over until the next meal, however, many people choose the easy way out and consume food items that are full of sugars, fats, and other unhealthy ingredients. Men especially don’t like to take too much time out to think about their food choices, but luckily, there are some items that are not only nutritious and easy to throw together, but are actually great for you, health-wise.

Needless to say, protein bars are a great food item for men to reach for when they don’t have a whole lot of time to prepare something to eat. Protein bars have been around for a long time and continue to be a popular snack choice for those that are health conscious. With the variety to choose from, you can easily find a brand and flavor that suits your taste buds. Need another snack idea that doesn’t take too much thought? Then you can turn to a good old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Peanut butter in particular is great for the body, and is low in fat. For best results, enjoy your sandwich with just peanut butter or you can add some banana slices to it for a tasty twist.

Tuna is another simple food item that can create a delicious snack that won’t work against you later on. Being fat free and low in calories, you can indulge to your heart’s content. Loaded with protein, you’ll be able to enjoy your next tuna sandwich without any worries. Be sure to avoid going overboard with the mayo, which can cancel out the health benefits of tuna, since mayo is loaded with fat.

Egg whites have been around forever and are a favorite for men, especially avid gym goers. However, if you’ve never given egg whites a shot, then you may want to add this food item to your daily meal routine. Egg whites are fat free, low in calories, and also free of cholesterol, not to mention that it only takes a matter of minutes to prepare and cook. Feel free to throw in some other ingredients like veggies and spices to add a zest of flavor.

Needless to say, fruit is also a surefire healthy snack that tastes great and offers plenty of variety to choose from. Pairing your favorite fruits with low fat cottage cheese helps to create a new snack that will provide you with plenty of protein. Another simple snack to throw together at the last minute is a helping of lentils. Chock full of protein and low in fat, just adding some lentils to your next plate of salad or hearty bowl of soup will add even more nutrition to your meal. It’s a great alternative to changing up your regular eating routine.
