The Top Ways to Get Acne

The Top Ways to Get AcneWhen it comes to treating acne, there are more than enough articles, resources, advice and other related information that discusses in depth how to get rid of acne and ways to deal with this skin condition on a daily basis. However, sometimes it’s fun to switch things up and do a little reverse psychology. Instead of focusing on ways to eliminate acne, why not talk about ways to get acne?

Poor Diet: Proper nutrition is not only essential for keeping the body in good peak condition physically - it also impacts the health of the skin. In the case of a person’s complexion, not implementing a nutritious and balanced daily diet will show its negative effects in some shape or form. Acne is one of them. While the concept of acne being caused by some foods is seen as a myth by many, it is true for some individuals. If a person finds that he/she tends to get acne breakouts because of a particular food item they often consume, it is best to eliminate that item from their eating regimen. To guarantee acne prone skin, indulge in greasy, fatty foods, loads of sugar and caffeinated beverages.

Stress: Want to give your complexion a bounty of breakouts? Then try amping up your stress levels. Whether the source is school, work, financial issues, family or relationship troubles, not keeping these levels in check will greatly contribute to upset skin. Stress is a powerful emotion and if you have enough of it, you’ll eventually begin to show signs of acne.

Don’t Wash Your Face Regularly: Personal hygiene means more than simply taking a shower or bath frequently. This part of a person’s regimen also includes skincare. The general rule of thumb is to cleanse the face once in the morning and once before bed, using quality skincare products that are formulated for each individual’s skin type. However, failing to keep the face cleansed and moisturized could result in acne. This is especially true for those with oily skin. The more sebum that accumulates on your complexion, the more of a breeding ground it will be for acne. The same goes for those that suffer from body acne. Skip out on the exfoliation and proper cleansing and you’ll find yourself with more whiteheads, blackheads and other signs of acne than you can count.

Scrub: There is a difference between exfoliation and scrubbing. A surefire way to encourage acne on your face is by using a washcloth in the attempt to literally “scrub off” the problem. Not only will this not eliminate the acne, it’ll also further upset your skin and irritate the pores.

Pick Away: Believe it or not, acne can be cleared up but if you have existing blemishes or breakouts and want to keep them around longer, all you have to do is pick at the acne and further aggravate the area. This keeps the acne in place and also results in good old fashioned acne scars.

Although the factors mentioned above are written very lightheartedly, the bottom line is anything but funny: if you truly want to maintain an acne free complexion, make sure to avoid all of the habits and behaviors discussed. In addition to incorporating a strong and diligent skincare routine on a daily basis, you’ll easily achieve skin that you will be proud to show off.
