Retinol:
Otherwise known as retinyl palmitate or Vitamin A, this skin care ingredient has been around for a few years, and with a good reason. Retinol is capable of penetrating all three layers of your skin’s surface. In doing so, it stimulates collagen production, which in turn keeps your skin looking young and healthy.
Peptides:
Many dermatologists believe that skin ages when the epidermis and dermis stop communicating with each other. When this happens, the skin “forgets” to make collagen. Peptides are skin care ingredients that can be thought of as cell phones, (pun intended) that allow the epidermis and dermis to “speak” to each other. When the skin gets the message saying “It’s time to make the collagen,” it goes to work immediately. The most popular form of peptide is called Palmitoyl pentapeptide-3.
Argireline:
Many people consider Argireline to be a skin care ingredient that is the most viable alternative to Botox. When Argireline is applied to your skin, it may relax facial tension, which in turn might lead to the reduction in facial lines and wrinkles.
Vitamin C
: Vitamin C is a skin care ingredient that benefits your skin in two significant ways. First of all, it is essential for the synthesis of collagen, which we know is an important structural protein of the skin. When vitamin C is added to a culture of skin cells, it has dramatic influence on the synthesis of collagen. Additionally, vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce skin damage caused by free radicals. In this way, Vitamin C can possibly reduce wrinkles while improving your skin tone.
In addition to a dedicated skin care routine, there are a number of other things you can do to keep your skin looking young and healthy. For example, if you have dry skin, or if you live in a dry climate, consider putting a humidifier in your room when you sleep at night. You can keep your skin hydrated by drinking eight glasses of water a day. Speaking of the number “eight,” as you get older, getting the required eight hours of sleep will work wonders for your appearance.
Finally, a good diet can play a significant role in promoting youthful skin. Blueberries are an excellent source of antioxidants, which counteract the decrease in collagen and elasticity that comes with aging skin. Salmon is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, which prevent inflammation.
