The Dark Side of HGH (Human Growth Hormone) in Anti-Aging

The Dark Side of HGH (Human Growth Hormone) in Anti-AgingAs with any great find in the anti-aging category, HGH is being sought after by those looking to turn back the hands of time. However, before embarking on this path towards youth, it helps to know what HGH does within the body, as well as the side effects that can occur. When it comes to any drug, it is always better to be safe than sorry.

To get a better idea of what makes HGH so in demand, it helps to know exactly what HGH does. Human growth hormone is a natural substance produced in the pituitary gland. During childhood, HGH is at its highest level. This substance is very important within the body because it is responsible for healing damaged cells and developing new ones. However, as we age, the levels of HGH produced within the body starts to decrease. When this happens, the body is less capable of repairing and reproducing new, healthy cells. The lack of healthy cells and cell damage lead to aging.

Medical experts have discovered that HGH can be used as a drug to help rejuvenate the elderly by restoring HGH levels to those of their youthful days. By forcing the body to repair damaged cells, older individuals who suffer from bone and memory loss, as well as skin damage can reverse the negative effects of these conditions. When administered properly, the use of HGH can increase strength, promote healthy weight gain, and fat loss, in addition to slowing the aging process.

So what about any of this could be bad for you? As with any drug, using HGH has its side effects, all of which should be carefully considered if you are thinking about going down this route. While the side effects are rare, they do happen, mostly in cases where the patient takes more than the recommended dosage for a longer period of time. Because of this, it is vital that you follow your doctor’s instructions exactly to avoid the following:

Hypoglycemia – This condition is the opposite of diabetes, where a person has too much insulin and low glucose levels.

Joint Pain – Because HGH is so potent when it comes to causing growth within the body, some people may suffer from joint pain while on the medication. But this side effect only lasts for a brief time.

Extended Belly – People who don’t use HGH as directed can develop an extended belly. This is common of those who are in the practice of bodybuilding and use the drug. The occurrence of an extended belly while using HGH is very rare.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome – Those who do not take HGH as directed can put themselves at risk for pinched nerves in the wrist, commonly known as carpal tunnel syndrome.

Acromeglia – This disease causes abnormal bone growth. Some people are more predisposed to the condition than others but may not be recognized by those who have it. While HGH does not directly cause Acromeglia, its ability to speed up the growth process can make the disease progress faster.
