"Permanently Diminish Fine Lines and Wrinkles In Just Ten Days"

and Other Anti-Aging Scams

Anti-Aging ScamsSo we`ve all seen the commercials and heard the advertisements right? A paid actor in a long, white doctor’s coat telling us that we now have access to this "breakthrough" product that promises a permanent and dramatic reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of premature aging in a short amount of time - all yours for this low, low, price you won`t find anywhere else. Or perhaps you`re more familiar with the myriad of television commercials whose celebrity endorsements include Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Claudia Schiffer, and Julianna Moore, to name just a few - who promise significant results through their "secret" anti-aging ingredient while allowing you a ridiculously insufficient amount of time to read the fine print before they tell you about their money-back-guarantee. These claims and endorsements should be your first warning flag when considering the purchase of an anti-aging product.

The Truth About Anti-Aging Product Claims

The truth? The truth is that there is absolutely no scientific evidence or even clinical research that supports any of the claims made by these anti-aging products. We hate to break it to you, but that means that when you are browsing your local drugstore or department store trying to decide which anti-aging product to purchase to smooth those fine lines or crows feet - your wasting your time and money.

The scientific research that holds the most value to consumers is the research that says that these products produced such minimal results in study groups that they had to be detected under significant magnification. Referencing just one such study, researchers conducted experiments in which volunteers used these anti-aging products on half of their faces while using a standard skin moisturizer on the other half for several weeks. The results? The half treated with the expensive anti-aging products produced the same, if not less, results than the standard facial moisturizer. We bet your kicking yourself right now just thinking about how much money is sitting wasted in that medicine cabinet of yours right? Well, take heart - we`ve all been there. Researchers do say that very few recent products containing alpha-hydroxy acids do show potential. However, at this point, the anti-aging industry and it`s ever-changing ingredient list and the insufficient knowledge of the long-term effects of these products combined with the fact that most products have insubstantial amounts of the key ingredients, it looks as though that miracle cream has yet to be developed.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is don`t believe the hype. Doctors and researchers advise that our time and money would be well spent instead on preventing the signs of premature aging by investing in quality sunscreen products and other products to shield us from the sun, consuming a healthy diet, exercising, drinking plenty of water, and taking care of our health in general, rather than attempting to treat the signs of aging with products that promise the moon and the stars.
