New Products Can Enhance Your Skin’s Natural Anti-Aging Protein

New Products Can Enhance Your Skin’s Natural Anti-Aging ProteinStop searching! We’ve had the fountain of youth all along. Perhaps not quite, but some companies believe they’re close. What they’re working to advance is the ability to stimulate a “youth protein” that is found naturally in our bodies. This “youth protein” is called Sirtuin, a class of enzyme that has been known to affect cellular metabolism or aging as we like, or don’t like, to call it.

There are certain agents that occur naturally in our lives, like those found in red wine, that stimulate the effectiveness of Sirtuin. (Although red wine contains these agents, the amounts are too low to cause a measurable increase, so don’t start drinking bottle after bottle in an effort to look younger!) Cosmetic companies are working hard to create products that stimulate our “youth protein” and promise us younger looking skin.

One change you can look for is products that are DHC-free. DHC is a compound found naturally in sweet clover that is often synthetically manufactured for use in cosmetics. Studies are beginning to show that DHC inhibits our “youth proteins” and may increase our skin’s aging process. The word is spreading that products that contain DHC may actually do exactly the opposite of what you’re paying for them to do. Be sure to check labels or go online to research the ingredients of your night creams, anti-aging serums and elixirs and moisturizers before you expose your skin to them again.

They may be hard to find, but products using Orsirtine, a botanical extract of rice that activates Sirtuins, boast results. Manufacturers say you can expect an increase in cellular longevity and the skin’s ability to repair and protect itself when using these products regularly.

Products that feature Sirtuin technology promise visible repair and rejuvenation in as little as three days. Most products are used as night creams. Some are to be used both morning and night. These formulas are said to increase skin’s natural elasticity, volume and bounce. Dark spots are also on the list of unwanted flaws that these night creams, elixirs and moisturizers combat. Along with a list of ingredients that only scientists can pronounce and explain, you’ll find peptides galore in Sirtuin-activating products.

Women who are trying these products do claim to see a noticeable difference in their skin’s elasticity and volume. Skin feels tighter and plumper – the sign of healthy, “young” skin. Wrinkles beware! Even women with sun-dried and spotted skin say that they are seeing remarkable benefits. Fine lines and wrinkles alike are disappearing and more radiant skin is taking their place. So have these cosmetic companies unlocked the fountain of youth to find it flows with our own natural proteins? You be the judge.
