Your Anti-Aging Travel Guide

Your Anti-Aging Travel GuideWho doesn’t enjoy going on vacation? Many of us lead hectic lives and the one thing we need the most to rejuvenate our bodies and relax our minds is to simply get away from it all. But vacationing means more than just making travel plans, packing and then figuring out what you want to do once you get to your desired destination. It is important that you continue to maintain your anti-aging regimen and in some cases you may even need to alter it a bit. The last thing you’ll want to do is sacrifice the health of your complexion for a little R&R.

Regardless of where you end up traveling, protecting your complexion from the sun’s damaging ultraviolet rays is a must. It is essential that the skincare products you use contain SPF in some shape or form. This is mainly going to be the case with your facial moisturizer. Male or female, young or old, make sure you have a facial moisturizer that contains SPF in it. This will be key when heading out to explore your vacation destination. Whether you’re going to be enjoying the sunny beaches of Hawaii or going skiing in the Alps, SPF will provide adequate protection. Just as the sun can harm your skin during a sunny day on the beach, ultraviolet rays also bounce off water and even the snow so you’ll want to minimize your risk of sunburn as much as possible. For those on vacation in hot climates, invest in sunscreen or at least a body lotion that contains SPF.

Going on vacation usually means partying all night well into the morning for many people. However, there are ways you can practice anti-aging while getting your groove on. When it comes to drinking, alcohol works as a major downer on your complexion. While you don’t have to completely abstain from drinking during your vacation, it is a good idea to choose your alcoholic beverages wisely. Red wine is always a good choice since it contains plenty of antioxidants. If you’re a fan of fruity drinks like margaritas or strawberry daiquiris, feel free to indulge but modify your drink order by making sure there are fresh fruit, going lighter on the alcohol and adding more ice. You’ll still get a nice buzz but won’t be prone to dehydration. The fellas will want to look for alcoholic beverages that are low in calories. This could mean switching to a favorite beer in a low calorie version. Also make it a point to drink a lot of water to keep your body going and to ensure a fresh complexion the next day.

Perhaps the most important piece of anti-aging advice to follow while you’re out on vacation is to stick to your daily beauty regimen. Just because you’re not at home doesn’t mean you should skip out on your skincare routine. When you wake up, make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturize. Do the same thing at night. No excuses. Maintaining the same anti-aging habits during your trip will allow your complexion to continue receiving the benefits of the products you use. Not only will your skin look radiant and youthful during your vacation, you’ll also arrive home afterwards with the same glowing complexion. Your trip shouldn’t beat up your skincare regimen.
