Facial brighteners are a combination of pigment-lightening agents that are 100% Hydroquinone (an over the counter drug used for skin whitening) free and help skin to give off a youthful glow and reduce the appearance of dark areas and freckles. They can even out skin tone and leave skin looking flawless and glowing. Don’t be mistaken however; facial brighteners are not the same as facial whitening products, which can only make the skin appear whiter.
What facial brighteners can do is improve the skins color and brightness, giving you a more youthful radiant look. They can also cover wrinkles and fine lines, making them virtually invisible. As we grow older our complexion becomes dull and lifeless. Our skin becomes brownish instead of the radiant pink we donned in our younger years. In the past there wasn’t a product or medical miracle that could give us back our youthful glow, until now. Facial brighteners return our youthful glow by brightening our skin and restoring skin’s color, allowing you to use less makeup. Another advantage to facial brighteners is that they can help fade other skin discolorations that you may be concerned about.
What facial brighteners cannot do is whiten skin or remove age-spots. Age-spot creams are designed to fade the over-active pigmentation areas on your skin, not brighten it and facial whiteners simply make your skin look whiter, nothing else.
Some of the most common ingredients in facial brighteners are Glycerin and Ascorbic Acid. When combined these are used to deliver youthful-looking skin. Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate is another ingredient found in brighteners that is a form of ascorbic acid used to brighten skin and promote cell growth.
With a facial brightener, results claim to be seen in as little as 4 weeks. To Use: Simply apply generously to clean dry skin and massage gently over any areas of the face that you want to brighten until completely absorbed, twice a day. Then apply a moisturizer to keep skin feeling soft and moisturized. Also it is an absolute must that you apply an SPF of at least a 30 when you plan to go outside since skin brighteners can make skin vulnerable to the sun.
The product does not come cheap, however. Facial Brighteners can run about $90 or more for a few months supply. Anything cheaper and you’re less likely to see very good results. So are they really worth it? If you’re looking for younger, radiant skin, then facial brighteners are the way to go. If you’re just looking for a way to remove wrinkles, then you’re better off without it.
One Final Note: While a facial brightener will cover wrinkles and fine lines, don’t expect them to remove them. The only way to completely remove wrinkles and fine lines is to have a Botox or facelift done.
