Natural Beauty Is Easy as 1-2-3 by Cynthia Rowland

Looked in the mirror only to find a much older version of you looking back? Did that bring a smile to your face? No??????

Well, if your first thought was plastic surgery, you`re not alone.

We have been brainwashed to believe that surgery, injections that fill or paralyze, lasers and certain skin preparations are the cure-all to stop those pouches, bags and droopy eyelids that scream to everyone who looks at us – our faces are aging.

In fact, millions of procedures are performed each year and there is no end in sight. We Americans spent 12.4 billion (billion!) on cosmetic surgery in 2005, and that figure is only expected to increase in 2006 and 2007.

All of the above are temporary fixes to lull you into believing you cannot rejuvenate your face naturally and that you must rely on outside crutches and props to plump up lines and wrinkles using toxic chemicals to achieve a younger looking face or submit to surgical procedures that forever change your features.

There are many options available when we`re willing to allow someone else to ply their merchandise/tricks/snake oil that we really don`t know what to believe when it comes to helping us look younger. The beauty ads are compelling and deluding; the air brushed models, deliberately manipulated, look so convincing and television shows consistently parade surgically and cosmetically enhanced actors and models before the cameras. These illusions lure us to believe that there are no risks if a person wants to do something about their face and aging.

Cosmetic procedures using injections and surgeries are like a gerbil running on his wheel: Once you start, it`s unlikely you will stop until your old, tired face can`t take it anymore.

The allure of swollen lips made possible via sterilized cadaver material or sporting a toxin laden smooth forehead somehow seems seducing like you`ve discovered the Fountain of Youth. No matter that your face continues to age in spite of spending thousands of dollars, when in fact, you may be causing further damage, more lines and wrinkles.

That`s right, repeating paralyzing procedures can result in more lines and wrinkles. Consider this:  paralyzing injections in the forehead will prevent your forehead from moving when you raise your eyebrows or emote with your eyes. Surrounding muscles that are not paralyzed will continue to move and contract but their range of movement will be constricted by the toxin so these muscles now have to compensate for the paralyzed muscle. Now different lines begin their development.

Scary.

Ads for the latest and greatest skin care items are everywhere. Even if you decide to forego injections and surgical routes, you must know that skin care is not enough to lift your face. Oh yes, the ads sound promising but alas, these, too, are very temporary and will not lift your sagging facial features. Maybe your skin will appear softer, younger even tighter but the muscles supporting your face will continue be to be affected by gravity. They will remain soft and droopy. Oh dear!

Aging in the face is going to happen, like it or not; we`ll never look like we`re 18 again but there are simple techniques you can do to yourself at home that will quickly and easily help you look younger, healthier and fresh faced.

These natural techniques will produce remarkable results quickly and you will see your eyes open as your forehead lifts, your cheeks reposition, your skin tightened and that lumpy, double chin smooth and contoured. No injections, no surgeries, no seams and no large out of pocket expenditures.

Just as exercise tones and revitalizes our waist, tummy, arms, hips and thighs, exercising your face using isometric and resistance techniques will create a youthful, rejuvenated appearance. The facial muscles attach to bone on one end and the other end of the muscle weaves over and under other muscles attaching to skin. It is only when special anchoring techniques are applied to the muscles that a contraction can be caused; this contracting motion with resistance allows the muscles to become fuller, plumper and more youthfully positioned. This action lifts the face.

Here is a simple three-step exercise for you to use at home that will easily lift your upper eyes and contract your forehead. Perform this exercise once a day six days in a row. Take one day off and continue another six days.

1.    Relax your eyebrow area and then place the three middle fingers of each hand directly under your eyebrows.

2.     Drop the palms of your hands flat against your face.

3.     With the pads of your fingertips directly under your eyebrows, push your eyebrows upwards and slightly outwards.

4.    Hold your eyebrows in this position with your eyes open.

5.    Slowly push your eyebrows down against your fingertips while holding your eyebrows high, and hold the contraction for five (5) seconds.

6.    Remove your hands from your face.

7.    Breathe in deeply through your nose, and exhale through your nose.

8.    Repeat the exercise again. This time hold the contraction for ten (10) seconds. At the seventh second, close your eyes, keeping your eyebrows held high.

9.   Remove your hands from your face.  Breathe in deeply through your nose, and exhale through your nose.  Begin again, hold the contraction for ten (10) seconds and close your eyes at the seventh second.  Repeat the movement again so that you have exercised for a total of thirty-five (35) seconds.

Perform this exercise once a day, six days in a row. Take one day off and continue for another six days. Exercise needs to be continued for ongoing results.

This exercise lifts the eye brows and begins to "awaken" your forehead, concentrating on the area above your eyebrow to the hairline.  Initially, you may see a line develop over your brow when you first perform this exercise; this line is a clear indication that your forehead has lost firmness and needs exercise right now to keep it from continuing its downward slide.

Think about the rest of your face and imagine that you can give yourself a more youthful appearance, privately, without ever leaving home. It`s as easy as 1 – 2 – 3.
