Placenta Use in Cosmetics

Placenta Use in CosmeticsPlacenta cosmetics are another proven trend that follows in the heels of ayurveda skincare, skin patches, and acid peels. First started with a simple injection in the 1930s, it has been hailed as an excellent skin healer because of its nourishing qualities. Since the placenta is the lining of the womb, which helps the fetus get its food, placenta cosmetics has been proven to produce wonders for the skin.

Placenta is best known as an anti-aging product. Placenta cosmetics do their jobs by stimulating cell renewal function in the body. Ultimately, cell renewal function helps to slow down the aging process we dread. During the early years of its use, cosmetics manufacturers thought that placenta cells helped to boost the stimulating of tissue growth and removed wrinkles. It achieved a reputation in the past as being strictly for the rich and famous. Reports have surfaced that Jennifer Lopez used this treatment earlier in her career. After all, each injection of placenta costs in the $5000 to $10000 range.

Today, placenta use is now a luxury for “normal” people as well. Today, there are plenty of placenta based natural skin care products that include an assortment of wrinkle creams and face masks. Not restricted to women, there are also aftershaves for men, eye creams, breast creams, and collagen based creams that helps moisturize the skin and actually aid with the body’s natural ability to produce collagen for smoother skin. Placenta based cream scrubs also help to clear pores and stimulate blood circulation, which helps prevent cellulite (remember, poor blood circulation and a slow metabolism helps lead to the buildup of cell waste beneath the surface of the skin.)

A common conception within the scientific industry is that natural skin care products, like placenta, do a better job of healing the skin than those without cell extracts. If this is the case, placenta cosmetic products are as natural as you can get – given the fact the placenta originates straight from the womb’s lining and is responsible for nourishing the fetus. It is always important, though, to read the product labels of any cosmetic product you see on the shelves. Keep in mind that the FDA does not approve products that claim to be “hypoallergenic” or “cruelty to animal free.” As is the case with placenta products, try them out today to achieve the moisturized healthy look your skin craves.
