Have a Head to Toe Hollywood Glow

Have a Head to Toe Hollywood GlowHow do actors shimmer and glow from each perfectly styled lock to their freshly manicured toes? Let’s start from the top…

Shiny Hair
Everyone wants hair that glistens and shines. No matter what your hair texture is, here are a few secrets for healthy looking hair.

·    Use heat-activated shampoos, conditioners and styling products. They release moisturizers that nourish and protect your hair when blow drying and styling. (Unless specified as heat-activated, styling products can “cook” hair when heated by a straightener.)

·    To help tame frizzy hair, lose the brush and use your fingers to separate your curls.

·    Use lightweight shine-enhancing products. Some are better than others, but they really do work. Don’t apply near the scalp or hair will look greasy.

·     To help seal in conditioner and produce high shine, wash and condition your hair, then rinse it with cold-water for about three seconds.

·    Style while you blow-dry with a brush designed for your hair type. Although plastic vent brushes add sheen to hair when used to style as you blow-dry, they stretch and snap wet hair when used to detangle. Use a wide-tooth comb instead – especially for curly hair.

·    If you use styling products, buildup can make your hair dull. Use a clarifying shampoo for seven days, then once a week.

·    To get curls to shine, don`t rinse conditioned hair completely. Apply a gel to damp hair and twist sections around your fingers. Allow your hair to dry naturally.

Radiant Faces
A bright, fresh face is not hard to achieve with a little preparation and a commitment to your skin care routine.

·    Cleanse your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser formulated for your skin type.

·    Use toners or fresheners to tighten pores and keep skin tone even.

·    Apply moisturizer immediately following toner or freshener. Do not allow your skin to dry completely or become tight and uncomfortable.

·    Keep your hands to yourself! Picking and squeezing skin pushes acne causing bacteria deep below the surface and can result in further breakouts and scarring.

·    Use foundations and powders formulated for your skin type.

·    If you have dry skin, use color cosmetics with built-in moisturizers.

·    Face brighteners or highlighters add photo-quality radiance when applied to bare skin or over make up

·    Use makeup sparingly and never use shimmer over dry or creased skin.

·    Use lip balms or gloss to keep a healthy shine on your lips.

·    Use beauty blotters to remove excess oil that causes dull skin.

·    Clean your makeup brushes often with a mild soap to remove pore clogging bacteria.

Shimmering Skin

From arms to legs and everything in between, our skin tells our age and our health. For younger looking glowing skin:

·    Wear sunscreen with at least an SPF15 every day of the year. UV rays can damage your skin while you`re sitting in class, driving to work or walking the dog.

·    Change your sheets often. Bacteria and oil collects on your bedding and are reintroduced to your skin when you crawl in the next night…and the next night…

·    Don’t shower or bathe in steaming hot water that over dries your skin.

·    Use baby oil in and after the bath for an extra moisture boost.

·    Be sure to rinse your skin after exposure to your hair products. Almost all conditioners, hair sprays and mousse contain pore clogging ingredients.

·    Use a shimmering moisturizer with light-reflectors to leave your skin with a radiant, healthy glow.
