Dry Skin
Dry skin is a very common problem. If you find that the skin on your face looks dry and dull, you may want to try gently exfoliating the skin to remove dead skin cells. Products that contain alpha hydroxy acids will work very well and will give your skin a cleaner, smoother, and younger looking appearance. You will also want to follow-up with a good moisturizer. Daily moisturizing creams that contain Vitamin A and Vitamin E will be especially helpful, as these creams can usually help control acne at the same time.
Acne
There are many different treatments that exist to combat facial acne. Topical creams containing retin-A, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, cleocin-T, and sulfur may help to clean your pores and reduce the appearance of blemishes. Unfortunately, many of these ingredients also remove hydration from your skin, which can cause peeling, flaking, and cracking. To balance these effects, you will need to find a good, non-oily moisturizer that can be applied daily. If your acne persists, consider visiting a dermatologist, who may be able to prescribe antibiotics to clear up the bacterium that is causing the acne to flourish.
Dark Circles
Dark circles are usually a temporary condition that can be caused by a variety of factors, such as stress, lack of sleep, allergies, poor nutrition, medication, and sun exposure. There are many treatments available on the market, and most of them are very effective in reducing the appearance of dark circles. Over-the-counter skin creams that contain vitamin C, vitamin K, and alpha hydroxy acid work especially well and will usually diminish under-eye discoloration. If the treatments don’t work as well as you hoped, don’t panic. There are also many different under-eye concealers that can be used to effectively cover-up dark circles.
Under-Eye Puffiness
Mild puffiness around the eyes is usually a temporary condition resulting from stress, fluid retention, allergies, or a general lack of sleep. Puffiness that results from allergies can be eliminated with allergy medications. If the condition is not from allergies, there are many different treatments that can reduce mild puffiness around the eyes, including skin care creams, facial masks, and cold compresses. The best creams to use include Vitamin C or antioxidants, which help to hydrate the skin. Cool tea bag compresses can also be used alone or in conjunction with creams. Because tea contains tannins and caffeine, the compresses will help reduce the swelling that occurs around the eyes.
