An
AVON salesperson’s dark past came to light after he was arrested for indecently assaulting a prospective customer. The man, thirty-nine year Andrew Armstrong of
Leeds,
UK, was accused of assaulting a woman after he dropped off cosmetics she ordered at her home.
It was discovered that Armstrong was recently released from prison for the contract killing of a twenty-year old woman in 1990. He spent sixteen years behind bars for the murder.
Avon representatives noted that their sales force was made up of self-employed individuals, and that there were no legal requirements to do any background checks.
