Actor’s Good Looks Ended His Modeling Career

Updated Dec 13, 2008

His looks may send teenage girls into a frenzy, but they weren’t good enough to help Robert Pattinson keep his modeling profession. Reports online indicate that the Twilight star’s modeling jobs ceased when he was 16, because his features were too masculine.

Pattinson started out at age 12 in the modeling field, but after 4 years the jobs stopped coming in. He was quoted in an interview with a British magazine as saying, “When I first started I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs, because it was during that period where the androgynous look was cool. Then, I guess, I became too much of a guy, so I never got any more jobs. I had the most unsuccessful modeling career.”

A sequel to the hit film Twilight is already in the works. Pattinson is expected to reprise his role as Edward Cullen. Twenty-year old Pattison’s fans can see him in a n umber of movies due for release in 2009, including Little Ashes in which he plays artist, Salvador Dali.
