Thirty-four year old actress Rose McGowan missed out on a starring role in Speed Racer because studio bosses felt fans would not recognize her. The actress’s cosmetic surgery has so altered her looks that “The studio felt that she was hard to recognize and worried that by the time the movie hit theatres, fans might not know who she was,” reports the NY Daily News. However, McGowan has claimed to have had cosmetic surgery for an eye injury she sustained in a car crash earlier this year.

McGowan is currently engaged to Mexican director Robert Rodriguez who she met on the set of Grindhouse.
