The latest statistics from the American Academy of cosmetic Surgery (AACS) reveals that American men are fast catching up with women when it comes to cosmetic procedures in select areas. The 2007 survey from the AACS shows that there has been a whopping 226.3 percent increase over the last five years in the number of men who are having their spider veins and varicose veins removed. On the other hand, there has only been a mere 3.5 percent increase over the same period for women.
The removal of the veins, known as sclerotherapy, is the second most performed type of cosmetic surgery being done in the USA, the report indicates. The most popular procedure was liposuction.
