The ingredient, DMAE also called dimethylameinoethanol is widely touted as a miracle anti-wrinkle reducer. DMAE works by causing skin cells to fill out and thus reduce wrinkles, hence the name the “instant face lift” or “face lift in a jar”. DMAE is found naturally in fish such as sardines and anchovies.

Researchers at the Universite Laval Faculty of Medicine in Canada believe that the ingredient widely used in cosmetics and toiletries need to be studied further to see if there are any health risks to consumers. The researchers are G uillaume Morissette, Lucie Germain and Francois Marceau.
