Beauty Company Teams with Celeb to End Teen Violence

Updated Dec 6, 2008

Mary Kay Inc.’s involvement in the fight to end domestic violence is well known. Now it has taken on a new dimension with them teaming up with actress, Amanda Bynes and Break the Cycle, a nonprofit organization. They visited Oscar De La Hoya Animo Charter High School to talk to students about building healthy relationships, and ways to prevent and put an end to teen dating violence.

The event included the launch a national online petition asking lawmakers from around the country to make domestic violence prevention awareness compulsory for students.

Bynes is well suited to this venture, being very popular with that particular demographic. She has appeared in a lot of teen oriented fare including, Big Fat Liar and What a Girl Wants.
