 Landing strip
 Landing strip refers to a the pencil-wide expanse of pubic hair left after a Brazilian wax treatment. It needn’t be straight, however; commercial logos, punctuation, and simple shapes are a way you can express your self through your tuft.
  
 Lanugo
 These are hairs that are found on the fetus. Lanugo hair generally shed before birth and is replaced by vellus hair. Incase lanugo hair are seen at the time of delivery then it is a sign of prematurity.
  
 Laser Resurfacing
 In laser resurfacing, or a ‘laser peel,’ physicians will use a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser to remove areas of wrinkled or damaged skin, particularly around the mouth or eyes.
  
 Laser Treatment (Hair Removal)
 Epilation performed by laser is referred to as laser treatment. It is an effective treatment for pseudofoliculitis barbae. The main principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis.
  
 Lentigines
 Lentigines are dark brown mascules that can occur anywhere on the body and are generally less than 3cm. Lentigines are not at all related to exposure to the sun and they do not fade away.
  
 Lesions
 It refers to abnormal tissue in the body. It can be caused by infection, trauma, neoplasm, autoimmune and metabolic. All lesions do not need treatment.
  
 Lichen Planus
 It is a common skin disease which can last from a few months to a number of years. The start of the disease is gradual but its cause is still unknown. It can occur anywhere on the skin but is mostly found in the inside of ankles and wrists, back, lower legs and neck. In some cases the mouth, nails and the genital region are affected.
  
 Lichen Sclerosus
 It affects the anal area of the body and the vulva. This condition is found mainly in postmenopausal woman but it can also develop on the head of penis of the men. The cause of this disease is not known but an overactive immune system might be the cause of this disease.
  
 Lichen Simplex Chronicus
 It is a type of a skin disorder which is characterized by scratching and chronic itching. The constant scratching results in leathery, brownish, thick skin. It results in stubborn itchy rash which occur in some people with sensitive skin.
  
 Lichen Striatus
 This condition results in the formation of rashes which consists of small raised bumps. The disease starts as small pink, red or flesh colored spots that over a time period of one or two weeks join together to form a dull red scaly linear band.
  
 Light Diffusers
 Light diffusers are added to eye creams, facial powders, and foundations by crafty cosmetics chemists, because they will give the skin a flawless look, and minimize the visibility of fine lines.
  
 Limbic System
 The limbic system consists of the locations in the human brain devoted to emotion, motivation, and the emotional associations evoked by memory. According to some, it is the basis of conceptions about our own beauty.
  
 Lip Plumpers
 It is used to make the lips look fuller. They contain natural irritants that cause the skin to swell and thus cause fullness of the lips. They also help decrease creases and lines in the lips.
  
 Liver Spots
 Liver spots are blemishes on the skin. The increased pigmentation is a result of UV rays of the sun and other unknown causes. It is generally located in areas like hands, forehead and arm. No treatment is required in most cases except for concerns relating to cosmetic appearance.
  
 Localized Scleroderma
 It is a disease which causes hardening of the skin and at times the internal organs. This disease ranges from few spots on the skin to spots covering the entire skin surface. The color of the spots ranges from ivory to yellow in color.
  
 Lyme Disease
 It is a tick borne infectious disease which is caused by the Borrelia burdorferi. It gets transmitted to human beings by the bite of infected deer ticks.
  
 Lymphomatoid Papulosis
 It is a rare disease which affects people of all age, race and sex. The cause of this disease is not known but it has been associated with T-cell lymphocytes.
