Bee Movie Sued Over Movie Slogan

Updated Nov 12, 2007

The slogan, “Give Bees A Chance” used in ads for the recently released animated Bee Movie has resulted in Dreamworks Animation SKG, Inc. and Paramount Pictures Corp. being used. A Florida-based organic cosmetics manufacturer, Beeceuticals LLC filed suit against the companies for trademark infringement claiming that have already trademarked the catchy slogan.

Beeceuticals has used the slogan over 400 times on Howard Stern’s radio show since March 2007 according to documents filed in court on November 1.

Co-written and co-produced by comedian Jerry Seinfeld, the animated picture featured the voices of Seinfeld, Rene Zellweger and Patrick Warburton. The movie is about a bee who decides to sue humans for eating honey.
