Big Gains for Minor Cosmetic Procedures

Updated Sep 5, 2012

As cosmetic surgery continues to rebound, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has issued a new report on the most in-demand procedures. According to the reports, minimally invasive procedures such injectable fillers account for roughly 90 percent of cosmetic surgery requests in the US.

Overall, the number of procedures performed has almost doubled when compared to the figure for 2000. Some analysts attribute the demand for Botox and other minimally invasive treatments to the cost factor. They are also perceived as being less risky than major operations such as facelifts. In light of this data, experts also caution patients to ensure that they use the services of qualified individuals.
