Buffalo Teachers’ Perk Could Irk Taxpayers

Updated Jun 3, 2012

One of the latest plastic surgery stories emerging in the news lately might put frowns on the faces of taxpayers. Published stories online indicate that teachers in Buffalo have been getting cosmetic procedures using tax dollars. They insist that it is simply a perk that comes with the job.

Reports claim that as much as nine million dollars was paid for cosmetic surgery for teachers in 2010. Payment for procedures like Botox and liposuction is part of their health care plan. Some teachers have indicated a willingness to give up the perk but there will still be a cost. They insist that a new contract must offer them better pay and improved working conditions.
