Carbox Therapy Being Touted as the Rival to Botox

Cellulite treatment, Carbox Therapy is now being marketed as an anti-aging treatment. According to CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com, the treatment is being marketed as a “non-invasive treatment to rival Botox.”

 

Carbox therapy is marketed under the name CO2 Rejuvination System by RioBlush in Europe. The treatment is said to help the skin improve collagen production while minimizing the number of fat cells, lading to firmer, more youthful-looking skin.

 

The treatment is delivered using a small needle to inject carbon dioxide inside the skin. It costs approximately £100 per treatment which lasts up to six months.

 

Two studies have shown that Carbox Therapy works and has no known side effects. According to one study from the University of Siena, Italy, “…the treatment was effective in both smoothing skin and reducing fat.” The Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal also conducted a study which “stressed that there are no known side effects associated with the treatment.”
