If the current trend on the world’s catwalks is anything to go by, the newest fashion trend will see you revealing a new wild side. Online reports indicate that the newest beauty trend for autumn will be black lip gloss. Two major players in the beauty industry have hit the ground running and have launched their black lip gloss before anyone else.  

Lancôme’s limited edition The Piha Red combo featuring The Piha Black lip gloss and Le Rouge (red lipstick) is already on the market. The line was named after New Zealand’s famed Piha Beach, whose black volcanic sands are world famous.

Yves Saint Laurent, always one to be in the thick of things, is also set to launch a black lip gloss, Gloss Pur. According to reports Gloss Pur will become available on a wide scale by the end of February 2009.

Both companies are recommending that the gloss be worn over special shades of red lipstick to get the perfect look.
