Twenty-nine year old Ukraine-born Karina Smirnoff, one of the pro dancers on the hit ABC reality show, Dancing with the Stars, had to have cosmetic surgery on her nose. Smirnoff broke her nose twice over the last six years and had to undergo the procedure on November 2 to correct her breathing. Dr. Nicholas Nicolov, who performed the surgery, told Extra that, “She can breathe easier. She may find [herself] being a little less tired, a little less winded.”

The procedure was also done for aesthetic reasons; Smirnoff had her nose reshaped during the surgery.

The championship winning dancer is currently dating her Dancing with the Stars third season celebrity partner, Mario Lopez.
