English football star, David Beckham who has been the face of Gillette since 2004 will not have his £40 contract renewed after it expires in 2007.   Gillette, a Proctor and Gamble brand, plans to replace Beckham with a group of sportsmen from a wide variety of sporting arenas, including basketball and American football for its US campaigns. All is not over for the thirty-one year old footballer as he will still be retained for local advertising in the UK.

Beckham, husband of Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham) of the Spice Girls, recently resigned as captain of the English football team and is no longer a member of the national team.
