Japanese company, Yumetai is marketing a line of sunglasses that are said to help dieters lose weight. According to the company, the glasses which can be ordered for $19 plus shipping works in two ways. The glasses which have blue lenses make food look unappetizing by causing them to look blue. The color blue the company states, works in the brain to calm the desire for food.
Conversely, the lenses also block red light which is believed to ‘stimulate the appetite’ – at least that is the claim. People worldwide spend millions annually trying to lose weight, so this may become the next best thing in weight loss.
