One popular anti-aging and skin care device gaining popularity has doctors worried. These are handheld, Do-It-Yourself laser devices. The reason for concern results not from the fact that the handheld devices do not work, because some do, but because some do not. According to past-president of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, Dr. Jay Burns some of the lasers are ‘based on legitimate science, but some are not.”
Luckily, the experts do not think that much harm will result from their use currently, since they do not have enough ‘zap’ to have any lasting damage. However, according to Dr. Burns they are definitely a ‘trend for the future.’
