Eyebrow transplants are increasingly being used for purely cosmetic purposes. According to published reports there is a growing trend towards using the technique to get eyebrows that look like those of a favorite celebrity. The procedure used involves removing hair follicles form the back of the head and transplanting them in the eyebrow area. In the UK eyebrow transplants cost approximately £2,000 for both eyebrows.

Previously eyebrow transplants were used for persons with thinning brows caused by a medical condition or over plucking or facial burns that damaged the brow follicles.
