Fine Organics Said to Have First Certified Organic Brand

Updated Feb 24, 2007

An Australian company, manufacturers of the Fine Organics brand is believed to be the first cosmetic company whose products are certified organic. This means that at least 95% of the ingredients used in Fine Organics products are truly organic. The products are from the Miessence range which includes cosmetics items such as foundations, concealers and moisturizers, toiletries such as oral care items, shampoos and conditioners.

One Group, the manufacturers, has received this level of certification by complying with the standards established with a number of bodies in various countries. These include the Biological Farmers of Australia (BFA), The International Federation of Organic Agricultural Movements (IFOAM), and the (United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

True organic products are made from agriculturally grown products and therefore reduce the number of synthetic and possibly toxic elements in the products.
