French Clothing Brand Enters Fragrance Market

Oxbow, a French clothing brand has signed a licensing deal with Lorience which will see them expanding into fragrances. The first two scents will be out in March 2008 in France before expanding internationally. According to Frederic Cassin, President of Lorience subsidiary, StarAsia, on CosmeticNews, “Sport lifestyle brands are little exploited in perfumery and Oxbow has a very strong image.” Oxbow’s fragrances will be positioned to be a competitor to Proctor & Gamble’s sport fragrances such as Lacoste.

 

The male fragrance is created by perfumer, Alexis Dadier. The female scent was composed by Philippe Romano. The fragrances will be packaged as 90ml and 50ml EdT (Eau de Toilette), with the female fragrance also coming in 3oml EdT. The bottles will use imagery from Oxbow’s surfing and lifestyle brand.
