A Brazilian couple, Dr. Luiz Carlos Ribeiro and Ana Maria Miranda Ribeiro are in jail on charges of manslaughter and illegally practicing medicine. The arrest arose out of investigations surrounding the death of a twenty-four year old woman. It is believed that the woman, Fabiola DePaula went to the Brazilian doctor to have cosmetic surgery done but the procedure led to complications which caused her death.

Ribeiro, unlicensed to practice in the USA is believed to have performed a nose job and liposuction of Fabiola prior to her death.    Authorities report that Ribiero runs an underground cosmetic clinic from his home in Framington.

The pair has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
