She may only be 23 years old (24 in November) but that doesn’t mean actress, Scarlett Johansson isn’t aware of ageism in Hollywood. She said that the movie industry is a “very vain, vain industry.” She noted in the online article that ‘women wilt’ as they age whereas men become better.

Johansson is not the only actress to lash out about the treatment and lack of roles for older actresses. Forty-five year old Demi Moore and 50-year old Sharon Stone have in recent times talked about the scarcity of roles for females over 40.  

The star of movies such as Lost in Translation and Match Point is viewed as one of the industry’s most attractive actresses.
