Most Australians Think about Cosmetic Surgery

Updated Aug 19, 2007

Over sixty percent of Australians surveyed by News.com.au and Core Data, a market research firm admitted to having considered having plastic surgery. In excess of 58 percent would opt for non-invasive procedures such as laser hair removal and injections to minimize wrinkles.

Most of the 2211 persons polled noted that having cosmetic surgery would increase their confidence and feeling of self-worth, while others just wanted to look better for their significant other.

The most popular procedures from the respondents were breast augmentation, nose jobs (rhinoplasty) and liposuction, and penis enlargement for 17.9 percent of men polled. Both sexes wanted to get rid of or minimize the appearance of wrinkles.
