According to figures coming from the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS), fewer men had cosmetic surgery last year. The report states that there was a drop of 2% in the number of men seeking to have work done. On the other hand, the number of women in this group rose as much as 29%.
AACS President Patrick McMenamin, M.D. was quoted as saying of the results, “For the time being, males and females are beginning to separate themselves in regards to cosmetic surgery.”
Not surprisingly this trend was partially a result of the ailing economy. The report also stated that the demand for less invasive procedures such as laser resurfacing by women has also not declined.
