Skin and personal care giant Proctor & Gamble (P&G) has embraced the green movement where packaging is concerned. The latest Internet news reports have revealed that the company will be using eco-friendly packaging for a number of its more popular brands.
P&G will be using packaging made from sugarcane by-products for its Covergirl, Max Factor and Pantene Pro-V ranges of products. The new packaging will be a global initiative with the first roll-out planned for 2011. All of the products should be available in this environmentally-friendly packaging within two years.
Group President, Global P&G Beauty, Gina Drosos was quoted explaining the move, "This innovation is truly consumer-driven. As we talk with women around the world, they tell us that they want to make themselves more beautiful without making their environment less beautiful.”
