Pageant Winner Sees Her Title Dye

Updated Aug 15, 2010

A beauty pageant winner losing their crown is certainly nothing new. Some incidents have been quite scandalous but one teen queen gave up her title for a somewhat shady reason. According to online reports she saw her reign cut short after getting a dye job.

The fifteen year old had won the title of Miss Teen Wanganui in New Zealand. She posted pictures showing the change in her hair color from blonde to brown. A pageant organizer was reportedly upset and asked whether it was a wig. The teen reportedly offered to give up the crown if she could not change her hair color.

A spokesperson for the pageant was quoted in the New Zealand Herald as saying that pageant winners were expected to keep the looked that gave them the crown.
