Cosmetic surgery used to be seen as the domain of wealthy whites, but recent a survey shows that this is changing. The survey, done by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) have found that more people from minority groups are having cosmetic procedures.
The tummy tuck was the most popular procedure among Hispanics reports state. Blacks on the other found were found to be going in more for breast reduction surgeries and liposuction. Asians were also covered by the survey with their most popular procedure being facelifts.
President of the AACS was quoted as saying, “Feeling better about yourself and making improvements to your looks is thankfully not limited to a specific race or culture.” More than 30 percent of those questioned in the survey preferred to go to a cosmetic surgeon of the same race.
