Figures from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) have shown that plastic surgery among mothers has been increasing steadily over the years. The most popular procedures among mothers aged 20 to 39 were tummy tucks and breast lifts. A total of 325,000 tummy tucks were performed on that age group last year.

Between 2005 to 2006 there was an eleven percent increase in the number of mommy makeovers according to ASPS. The increase in the number of these procedures is partially due to increasing acceptance of cosmetic surgery. Mommy makeovers are so called because mothers are using cosmetic surgery to regain their pre-children shape. Many celebrities have also have had mommy makeovers such as Britney Spears and Shar Jackson.
