Sheilas’ Wheels, a UK-based insurer catering to women drivers recently conducted a survey which revealed that women sporting particular hairstyles are more likely to have motor vehicle accidents than others. An amazing 67 percent of women have the type of hairstyle that could prove problematic when driving. Of that amount, only one-fifth or 21 percent said they secure their hair before driving.
Heading the list of dangerous hairstyles where driving is concerned are long fringes such as those sported by singer Lily Allen, with 50 percent. Sweeping fringes came in second with 44 percent. Sheilas’ Wheels representative, Jack Brown said in a report on the Company’s website that, “Not many women think of their hair as a potential driving distraction, but with the latest trends all requiring styling around the face and eyes, it’s essential that female motorists are aware of this safety issue.”
