With spending in excess of €800 million per year, Spaniards are the leaders among Europeans when it comes to cosmetic surgery. The figures on cosmetic surgery in
Spain were released in a report from SECPRE (the Spanish Plastic Surgery Association). The same report shows that the average spending on cosmetic surgery per person per year is €2,000.
The most popular procedures listed among females are breast augmentation, tummy tucks and liposuction. Over 30,000 breast implants were sold in
Spain in 2006. Men, accounting for 20% of cosmetic surgery patients opted for liposuction, eyelid surgery and abdominal surgery.
