UK researchers, Dr. Carter Singh and Martin Kelly have done a study that points to a possibility of addiction by Botox users. The study noted that because of the immediacy and effectiveness of Botox to minimize or prevent wrinkles, users do not want to stop taking the injections.
According to the study, more than forty percent of Botox users interviewed said they had a ‘compulsion’ to take the injections repeatedly. They claimed that they liked looking younger as a result of the Botox injections.
The study noted that the substance itself is not addictive, it is the users need for the results.
The duo will present their findings at the upcoming
British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in
London.
