The 13th biannual survey, “
Taking Stock With Teens” by the investment banking firm, Piper Jaffray reveals that teens ranked MAC cosmetics as number one. The Estee Lauder cosmetics brand according to Piper Jaffrray’s Neely Taminga may remain in this position for a while because its distribution channel was favored by teens who liked buying in discount channels.
Over 600 teens with an average age of 16.6 and their mothers were polled in 11 US and Canadian cities; the poll was conducted via field trips to shopping malls. Another 1,200 were polled online.
Estee Lauder’s Clinique brand also landed in the top five ranking at no. 3.
