A recent survey in the UK revealed that men and women both agree that the ideal dress size is a twelve. UK-based Surgicare, a weight loss surgery company, conducted the survey of 2000 men and women aged 16 and older. Forty-five percent (45%) of the UK population selected size twelve, with size ten coming next raking in 28% of the votes, size fourteen was the third most popular size with 18%.

On an age basis, the younger pollsters, those between 16 and 24 opted for smaller sizes. Size ten came out on top among this group with 45% followed by 18% for size eight or lower. It was noted that this difference was partially attributable to the influence of the media.

The smallest size, a four (a size 0 in the USA) received a mere 0.4% of the votes.
