A just concluded survey revealed that many persons, both male and female do not take the use of sunscreen seriously. The poll of 48 women and 2 men showed that only 22 of the 50 persons interviewed regularly used sunscreen daily. The females ranged in age from 17 to 70, while the men were younger than 50 years old.
The results also showed that 38 of the females (80%) had regular skin examinations, with 30% of that number visiting plastic surgeons for skin checks. Surprisingly, many of the respondents were aware of anti-aging skin care treatment such as microdermabrasion, which help repair sun damaged skin, yet they did not use sunscreen regularly to prevent sun damage.
The survey was conducted by Massachusetts-based South Shore Skin Centre at a Women’s Expo.
